Our Eagle Ray Brooch. Designed by Simon Harrison and chosen by Adorn. This stunning brooch is highly textural. One side is covered in hundreds of dark sapphire coloured cabochon stones and Swarovski ® crystals. These represent the texture of the eagle ray’s skin. The underside has been lavished with the same attention to detail. It features a base relief image of an eagle which grasps a snake in one claw and a crystal in the other.
The eagle ray is a close relative of the sting ray and manta ray. It has distinctive markings on its back which were the inspiration for this small group of jewellery featuring a bangle, ring and earrings. The surfaces are set with dozens of small cabochon stones and Swarovski ® crystals. These represent the natural texture of the ray’s skin, known as shagreen.
