What is Sterling Silver?

Silver is one of the most popular precious metals. Associated with success and glamour, Silver is used for its' ductile and malleable properties. Many of our fabulous collections at Adorn are created from silver.

Throughout our lovely website we use the term 'Sterling Silver' for example Silver Hammered Bangle. Sterling Silver is silver marked as 925. This means that out of every 1,000 parts of metal, at least 925 of those parts are silver. Silver is alloyed with copper to create a more durable metal and the accepted standard in the UK is 925.

Silver articles weighing less than 7.78 grams are not required to carry a hallmark.
