Enamel Dragonfly Brooch

Inspired by 1920's French Enamel.  This beautiful brooch has a hidden bale and can also be worn as a pendant.  The enamel style is known as Plique-a-Jour Vitreous Enamel meaning  'glimpse of day' in French.  The true beauty of this brooch can be seen in daylight.  Set in silver with sparkling white sapphire and amethyst.  This brooch exudes 1920s glamour.

Plique a Jour is a highly specialised enamelling technique and creates vibrant colour. Working like a miniature version of stained-glass, powdered glass is placed in cells and heated. Unlike cloisonné work the cells are open which allows the light to shine through the transparent or translucent enamel.
